About Distribu

An opinionated platform for B2B distributors — a catalog, a branded storefront, an order pipeline, and an API. That's the whole product.

Why we built this

Most distribution businesses run on three tools nobody picked: an ERP someone's grandfather bought, a spreadsheet that lives on one laptop, and a phone. Orders come in by call or fax, inventory gets reconciled on Fridays, and the sales team spends half its day answering "is this in stock?"

The modern SaaS stack doesn't fit either. Shopify is built for retail. A full ERP costs six figures and takes a year to roll out. The middle — a focused B2B platform that a 10-person operation can set up on their own — didn't really exist.

Distribu is that middle. A small team can sign up on Monday and be taking online orders from their customers by Wednesday. The API is there from day one, so when you outgrow the dashboard, you don't outgrow the platform.

What we do

  • Catalog & inventory. Products, SKUs, prices, stock, categories, bulk CSV import — with an audited stock-movement ledger under everything.
  • Branded customer storefronts. Every workspace gets its own URL, its own logo, its own customer logins, and per-customer pricing and credit limits.
  • Order pipeline. Submitted → processing → shipped → delivered, with tax, shipping, webhooks, and an audit log. Plus returns, refunds, and store credit.
  • Reports & notifications. Sales, customer-spend, and inventory valuation as structured JSON or scheduled emails. In-app notifications for everything that matters.
  • A real REST API. Versioned endpoints, scoped keys, signed webhooks, 60 requests/minute per key. Enough surface area to sync with an ERP or build a warehouse-management script.

What we don't do

Distribu is narrow on purpose. If you want these things, we integrate with the tools that do them properly rather than rebuilding them badly:

  • Accounting and bookkeeping. Push orders and invoices into QuickBooks / Xero via webhooks. No ledger, no trial balance, no end-of-year close.
  • Warehouse management. We track stock at the SKU level. Multi-bin, pick-path optimisation, and barcode scanners are separate software — hook them up through the API.
  • EDI. If your big customer mandates EDI 850/855/856, use a translator service (SPS Commerce, Orderful) that turns EDI into JSON and hits our REST endpoints.
  • Retail / direct-to-consumer.Distribu assumes B2B buyers with logins, credit limits, and per-customer prices. If you're selling to end-consumers, Shopify is the right tool.
  • Shipping label printing. We record tracking numbers you paste in; we don't buy labels from carriers. ShipStation / EasyPost handle that and can feed tracking back through our API.

How we operate

Every significant action in a workspace writes to an audit log — including ours when we perform support tasks. Every API call you make is rate-limited per key. Every webhook is HMAC-signed, and secrets can be rotated without downtime. The privacy policy and terms name the subprocessors we actually use (Stripe, Vercel, Neon, Resend).

We're small and opinionated. If you hit a rough edge, email support@distribu.app — you'll hear back from someone who can change the code.
